Four years following the tragic events of his mother and 2nd cousin's venture into the fabled North Carolinian mountains, ending in her supposed demise, young Brandon begins to get strange messages from her. Reluctantly, he and his friends make the same venture, after educating themselves on a little of the lore, but when they arrive, they find that things might not be the same as they were four years ago...
